Which Test is Right For You?

Our most popular Functional Tests:⁣

⁣Some people are surprised to hear that we offer a range of tests to support your health, assuming that nutritionists just tell you what to eat and what not to eat..

⁣Nope!

⁣We have a broad range of testing available through leading labs in the field of Functional Medicine.⁣

⁣We use them to direct and focus our efforts, to measure progress and to give us a strong indication of what’s going on inside your body and potentially causing your symptoms.⁣

Testing takes out the guessing.

⁣They are also useful to support any discussions with your GP or healthcare consultant. Our tests provide relevant information in a language that GP’s are familiar with. ⁣

⁣Here are our most commonly used tests and a quick why: (for more information get in touch)⁣

⁣SIBO Test (small intestinal bacterial overgrowth):

A breath test that measures gases within the small intestines, indicating an overgrowth of bacteria. Useful for those with IBS symptoms such as bloating, constipation, loose stools, sugar cravings and an intolerance to some foods.

⁣The ONE Test. (Optimal Nutrition Evaluation)

A urine test that assesses your overall nutritional status. You my be eating really well, maybe taking supplements… But is your body absorbing and using those nutrients? This test will tell us. and is great for athletes looking at maximising energy production and stamina.

DUTCH Test

This measures sex and stress hormones using urine and saliva, collected throughout the day. If you have problems with fatigue, hormone related conditions, ongoing stress or difficulty sleeping this test is for you.⁣

⁣GI Effects Stool Test

A best seller… roughly 80% of the immune system is housed within the gut. Seasonal allergies, eczema, IBS, digestion issues, upset tummy that won’t resolve by itself….This stool test gives us a comprehensive picture of your gut health. Hippocrates said: “all disease begins in the gut’” and we haven’t been able to prove him wrong yet.

Functional DX.

Another best seller! This blood test is the equivalent of an annual MOT.

Blood tests are a universal language that your GP will understand and can use to support medical professionals’ diagnosis. It assess over 80 markers which is way more than a standard blood test and seeks ‘optimal’ ranges as opposed to just ‘normal’. Functional DX test provides 90+ pages of data on YOU.

We will always advise you with confidence the test (or tests) that are most useful for your goals or health concerns. If cost is an issue for you, we will do our best to produce an alternative approach that fits within your budget.
