Dairy Free – What’s Your Alternative?

Bottles of dairy free alternative milks, nut milk, soya milk, almond milk, hemp milk

Dairy Free Milk are becoming increasingly popular – but which one’s right for you?

One of the most frequently asked questions when it comes to ‘dairy free’ is “what should I do about milk?”

The thought of popping a dash of plant milk into tea or coffee blows peoples minds!

Here’s our guide on which milk alternatives work best in hot drinks, cereals, sauces, smoothies and even custard!

OAT MILK

A firm favourite of ours… it’s thick and creamy and is great with tea, coffee, lattes and sauces

RICE DRINK

A lighter consistency, similar to skimmed milk.  Works great in weak tea, granola, cereal and porridge.

HAZELNUT DRINK (unsweetened)

Warm, rich and a bit sweet with a nutty taste.  It’s great for hot chocolate and coffee.

ALMOND MILK (unsweetened)

Another popular milk alternative that has a nice nutty flavour.  It’s great for granola, smoothies, creamy soups, overnight oats, chia pudding.

HEMP MILK

This milk is mild, creamy and natural source of omega 3, 6, and 9. Ideal for those that are avoiding nuts, gluten and soy. Look out for the barista versions too if you like a bit of foam on your cappuccino.

Use it in tea, coffee, smoothies, porridge and custard.

COCONUT MILK (unsweetened)

The naturally sweet taste of coconut milk, with natural oils and smooth texture is a tropical treat.  It works well in lattes, rice pudding, creamy cocktails, Indian and Thai spiced soups and cereals.

SOYA MILK

One of the first milk alternatives, Soya has been on our shelves for 40 years.  Ideal for vegans  and gym bunnies because of it’s protein content. Buy organic if you can as Soya can be an issue for those with hormonal imbalances.

Use it in baking, smoothies, coffee, protein shakes.
