Many people are looking for other ways to support their health, and especially so when it comes to cancer support.
It can be challenging to know where to start, to know what is valuable or useful for your situation and to navigate the varying opinions by health practitioners in whether you are doing the right thing in seeking additional or alternative support.
Research and science is extremely valuable in the health world. But so are anecdotal experiences and the wisdom of experience in practice. We believe that all 3 considerations are useful.
What we know:
That people want to feel more in control of their own health decisions, treatments and their future
They want to understand their options and understand the condition they are facing
They value being seen and heard as who they are rather than just their diagnosis
Nutritional Therapy aims to support the persons health outcomes alongside orthodox approaches.
We don’t treat cancer, that’s the role of the medical professionals, our role is to educate, support the body and mind and imbalances within the body. Doing this in a practical way and with the support of primary medical professionals is always our aim.
We find that people look for support with:
- Managing the side effects of treatment
- Preparing for treatment
- Preventing a reoccurrence
- Recovery from treatment
- Avoiding cancer
- How they can help their loved one
How we can support you:
1. Help you to understand what is happening in the body with your diagnosis
2. Assess and explain what may be driving your health issues and support you to address them
3. Assess what your body needs to rebalance and make it a less welcoming place for disease to develop, through functional testing
4. Recommend dietary and supplement approaches to support the body to rebalance
5. Give you ongoing, regular support through our cancer support package
We believe in the principle of food as medicine and that food can affect health outcomes. Having a diagnosis is not too late to make changes to how we nourish the body, but can be the catalyst we have needed.
Our aim is to work alongside whatever treatments people choose to undertake. Integrative approaches to cancer are widely adopted in many countries alongside orthodox treatments, safely and positively for the person.
Amy has personal experience of ‘Cancer Land’ when her Dad was diagnosed with prostate and later pancreatic cancer.
